Collection: Donald Harrington Monet
Donald Harrington Monet is an Ottawa artist, curator and teacher. He concentrates his studio efforts toward landscape, photo-collage and found-object paintings. Owner of Cube Gallery Ottawa,(Est. 2005), he has organized dozens of thematic group exhibitions and solo shows featuring Ottawa and National visual artists, musicians, actors and dancers. Monet builds “paintings” that reflect upon culture and iconic Canadian landscape painting. His recent work consists of multiple photographs and paint varnished onto square wood panels. It speaks to the viewer of our fractured ways of seeing. He feels that the most mundane moments, the smallest things also represent the largest things: playing scrabble, reading a book, a paddle in the water, starting a fire are all profoundly and culturally significant.
